Jim Baker CPFA®, MBA
James Arthur (“Jim”) Baker is a Wealth Advisor with The Fox Alliance serving both individuals and companies in the disciplines of investments and the management of financial well-being risks. He served as a Wealth Advisor beginning in 1994.
On a foundation of years of teaching and coaching experience, an undergrad degree in Psychology and an MBA in Real Estate and Finance, Jim was naturally prepared for a collaborative style of working with clients in understanding the “why’s” and “how’s” of managing their financial risks and capital growth needs.
After 15 years of experience in real estate brokerage, development, management and investment, Jim entered the field as a representative with New England Financial. His passion for service, communication skills, and his technical background were a perfect fit for his client relationships: helping them feel supported personally, corporately and financially by assisting them in making well-considered, informed decisions.
The core of Jim’s business is caring relationships mixed with broad and deep resources to bring to bear for his client’s best interests.
Beyond his seasoned experience in the industry he:
- Holds securities licenses 7 and 66 through LPL Financial.
- Served as a member of the New England’s Retirement Plan Advisory Group
- Earned his Certified Wealth Strategist® designation
In November of 2014, along with Bill Fox and Kem Griffin, Jim co-founded The Fox Alliance to provide an independent and comprehensive approach to wealth management with significant intent to further developing an "Endowment model" discipline for his clients' life-long benefit.
Jim was married for 38 years and has two grown sons, Sterling and Christian. He has been active in the Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, is a contributor to Austin Symphony Orchestra, The Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Austin, Apartment Life (Austin) and to fundraising events for numerous charities and organizations. Jim regularly attends The Church of Conscious Harmony. As a former award-winning gymnast, cheerleader and instructor in those disciplines, Jim now enjoys paddle-boarding, kayaking, cycling, skiing, photography, visual arts, DIY projects and cooking. He is an avid reader, particularly in the areas of psychology and spirituality. He currently serves as President of the Wilbarger Creek Municipal Utility District Number Two located in Travis County, Texas.
